God takes no pleasure of the blood of bulls, lambs or goats. Incense is an abomination to Him. Solemn assemblies, festivals and appointed feasts He hates. They are a burden to Him and He grows weary of carrying them. All of it tries His patience.
We all have this secret sense that God gets pleasure out of blood in sacrifice, the sweet smell of incense or religious festivals. It is as if he needs these ‘things’ to convince Him to do something that He doesn’t really want to do. Absolute rubbish and religious crap, it is thinking with ‘Adam’s’ heart, we are hiding and trying to blame God.
They are symbolic only, they have no intrinsic worth in them. They were given for us and not for Him. As soon as we think we can use these against Him, to try and create a bit of a smoke screen that we can get away with things in, He tells us in very clear and equally strong prophetic words that it disgusts Him. He can’t stand it and if anything brings up the anger of God, it is these heart betrayals in the name of religion.
They were only meant to be indicators, signposts that tell us that the Messiah is coming and in Him and through Him only, will the heart of God be revealed. Only in the cross will the full justice of God be accomplished, and sin destroyed. Now is it perfectly clear, He wants to deal with us at a heart level, no other options are available, and He is deadly serious about it.
